Philosophy of Religious Education
We believe that a religious education program must be an agenda for Christian living in order to fulfill the mission of Christ in the Church. It must proclaim the Gospel to all people. It must be a means to develop the whole person, enabling them to grow intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Holiness is found in wholeness. A religious education program must strive to unify all areas of life in the parish.
Religious education is provided for all students of the parish
not attending Divine Savior Catholic School. The curriculum is the same as
that used in the school and emphasizes Christian morals and values through
Catholic education. Religious Education students receive the sacraments with
students of the school, at the appropriate time. The classes begin the middle of
September and end in the spring.
All classes meet in the Parish Center on Wednesdays. Grades K-8 meet from 6 to 7
PM and the high school classes meet from 7:30 to 9 PM.
